Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On each later request the browser sends the file back, which lets the site recognise the same browser. This policy also covers equivalent browser storage technologies — local storage, session storage and pixel requests — because they can serve similar purposes. Where this policy says “cookie”, it includes those technologies.

This policy applies to mexccard.com, the website operated by OCEAN WAVE FINTECH PTY LTD of 7500A Beach Road, #04-307 The Plaza, Singapore 199591. It explains what we store, why, how long it lasts, who else is involved, and how you can refuse or remove optional storage.

Cookies used on this website do not contain your name, password, payment card number or card security code. Technical data collected through cookies — such as an internet protocol address — can be personal data on its own or when combined with other information, and we handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.

The table below lists what this website stores, or may store once you have given consent. We keep the list short on purpose: this is a marketing and application website, and it does not need extensive storage to work.

If we introduce a new cookie, we will update this table before it is used and, where it is not strictly necessary, ask for your consent first.

We group storage into the four categories below. Only the first category is used without your consent, because the website cannot be delivered securely without it.

• Strictly necessary. Required to deliver pages you request, to keep the site available and secure, and to remember the choice you made in the consent banner. These cannot be switched off through the banner, because declining them would prevent the site from working. On this website this category covers the consent record and any hosting or content-delivery cookies described in Section 2.
• Analytics. Help us understand in aggregate how visitors reach and move through the site, which pages are read, and where errors occur. The reporting we see is aggregated, and these cookies are only placed if you select Accept.
• Marketing. Would be used to measure advertising campaigns or to show our content on other websites. This website does not use cookies of this kind, and we would ask for your consent before introducing any.
• Functional. Remember choices that change how the site behaves for you, such as a language preference. Apart from the consent record, this website does not currently store functional preferences.

Declining optional cookies does not restrict access to any page, form or document on this website. The only effect is that your visit is not included in our aggregated usage statistics.

Most storage on this website is first-party, meaning it is set by mexccard.com itself. Two kinds of third-party involvement are possible:

• Our hosting and content-delivery provider. The provider that serves the site may set strictly necessary cookies for request routing, page integrity and protection against abusive traffic. It acts on our instructions as a processor and does not use the data for its own purposes.
• Our analytics provider. Where you accept optional cookies, an audience measurement script is loaded and the provider sets the cookies described in Section 2. The provider processes the data on our instructions to give us aggregated reporting. If you decline, the script is not loaded and no cookie is set.

We do not embed third-party advertising, social media tracking pixels or re-targeting code on this website. Fonts and other static assets are served from our own domain or from a provider configured not to set cookies.

Third-party providers handle data under their own privacy terms in addition to the contract they have with us. You can ask for the current list of providers that set or receive data through this website, and the safeguards that apply, by writing to privacy@mexccard.com. Details of how we assess and contract with providers, and how international transfers are protected, are in our Privacy Policy.

Storage is either session-based or persistent, and the difference matters for how long it can be read.

• Session storage lasts only while your browser window or tab is open and is discarded when you close it, or shortly after. On this website session cookies are limited to the strictly necessary hosting and content-delivery cookies described in Section 2.
• Persistent storage survives the browser being closed and has a stated lifetime, after which the browser deletes it, unless it is stored in local storage — in which case it stays until the site data is cleared.

The specific lifetimes currently in use are: the consent record mx-cookie-consent, held in local storage, remains until you clear site data for this website; hosting and content-delivery cookies last for the session or up to 24 hours; and audience measurement cookies, if you have accepted them, last up to 13 months from your most recent visit and are refreshed each time you return.

A stated lifetime is an upper limit rather than a promise that the data will still be there. You can delete any of it at any time using your browser, as described in Section 7, and clearing storage for this website also clears your recorded consent choice.

On your first visit, a consent banner appears at the bottom of the screen. It explains that we use essential cookies to operate the website and optional analytics cookies to understand how it is used, and it links to this policy. The banner offers two choices:

• Accept — you agree to the optional analytics storage described in Section 2, in addition to the strictly necessary items.
• Decline optional — only strictly necessary items are used. No analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set.

Your choice is recorded in your browser’s local storage under the key mx-cookie-consent, with the value accepted or rejected. The banner is shown only while no value is stored, so once you have chosen it does not appear again on this browser. The record stays on your own device; it is not a cookie sent to our server, and it does not identify you.

Changing your choice. This website does not have a separate preference centre. To change your decision, clear the site data — cookies and local storage — for mexccard.com in your browser settings, then reload the page. The consent record is removed with the rest of the site data, the banner appears again on your next visit, and you can select the other option. Clearing site data also deletes any analytics cookie already set. Because the record is stored per browser and per device, a choice made in one browser does not carry over to another, and using private browsing means the banner reappears in each new session.

Beyond the banner, your browser gives you direct control over cookies and site data. You can block cookies for individual sites or for all sites, delete what is already stored, and set the browser to clear storage each time it closes. Blocking all cookies and local storage at browser level means the consent banner cannot record your choice, so it will reappear on each visit. The rest of this website — including the pages describing the programme, the FAQ and the contact form — remains usable. If you have accepted analytics cookies and later want them removed without clearing everything, you can delete the individual cookies for mexccard.com in your browser’s site data settings.

This policy takes effect on 1 September 2026 and replaces any earlier version published on this website. We review it when we change what we store, when we add or replace a provider, or when a legal requirement changes. The version on this page is always the one in force, and the effective date at the top of the page tells you when it began to apply.

If a change means we want to use a new category of optional storage, we will update this policy and ask for consent through the banner before the new storage is used. Administrative updates, such as a corrected link or a clearer description, take effect when published.
